MacAvoy Layne Named the 2023 Local Heroes Parade Marshal

The Incline Village Crystal Bay Veterans Club has announced that MacAvoy Layne, also known as the Ghost of Twain locally, will lead the 2023 Local Heroes 4th of July as Parade Grand Marshal.
Marine Corps Corporal Night Train Layne served in Vietnam in 1966 & 1967 before getting a tap on the shoulder by Mark Twain. McAvoy was a lifeguard at South Shore Lake Tahoe in the summer of ’61 and cautions us to cover up from the sun today while we enjoy our liberty that has been preserved by our stalwart veterans over the many decades… Semper Fi!
