December 14, 2023 | Member Submitted

On December 8, 2023, long-time Incline Village resident Melissa Mangiaracina announced that she would be running for the position of Justice of the Peace in the Incline Village Justice Court next year. This announcement came on the heels of Judge Alan Tiras’ announcement on December 7, 2023, that he will be retiring after he completes his current term.

Ms. Mangiaracina is not new to Incline Village or the Justice Court, having lived in Incline for over twenty years and having served as a Justice of the Peace Pro Tempore for the past ten years. In addition to her work for the Justice Court, Ms. Mangiaracina has served Incline and the larger Nevada community as a Staff and Senior Attorney for Nevada Legal Services, a Child Advocate Attorney for Washoe Legal Services, and the Directing Attorney of the Senior Law Project in Washoe County.

More recently, she shifted her focus from litigation to mediation. Ms. Mangiaracina currently mediates appellate cases for the Nevada Supreme Court, child protection cases for the Nevada Juvenile Dependency Mediation Program, and child-related relief for Washoe County. Ms. Mangiaracina has trained judges and legal professionals across the country and in Canada on a variety of legal topics for the past ten years.

Ms. Mangiaracina is also a co-founder of the Mediator Training Center, LLC. To learn more about Ms. Mangiaracina, her credentials, and her commitment to the community, you can visit her website at melissaforjp.com.
