Revitalize Cal Neva

The Plan
McWhinney’s project team, in partnership with The Kor Group and operating partner Proper Hospitality, has begun the visioning and design process for the 13-acre Cal Neva site. The award-winning design team is focused on upgrading and modernizing the existing hotel tower while retaining some of the original character of public spaces like the historic lodge and Frank Sinatra Showroom. The intent is to offer a world-class spa and wellness retreat in addition to enhanced outdoor and gathering space options. The design and development team understands the need to maintain balance with the beauty of Lake Tahoe and surrounding community. We have enjoyed engaging with the community and meeting with regulatory officials as the plan takes shape. Learn more about the project here.

Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe 2025 Redevelopment
South Parcel Redevelopment
Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe has begun an exciting enhancement of its 8.5-acre South Parcel, with work underway since March 2025. This project will transform the area’s existing cottages, restaurants, and ballroom into elevated, modern accommodations and meeting spaces. During this time, the South Parcel – including the resort’s beach, Lakeside Ballroom, and associated restaurants – will be closed to guests. The redevelopment is expected to continue through late 2027.
