A school fundraiser that gives back to the whole community.

Lake Tahoe School is a non-profit, independent school. Like most non-profits, the school has created a fundraising event around Giving Tuesday. This event will be the Lake Tahoe School giving Tuesday Winter Market. Not only will it raise money for the school to continue essential programs such as tuition assistance, but it will also promote local Tahoe businesses and share the exposure with another non-profit organization devoted to helping children. The market will take place at Lake Tahoe School on November 28th from 5:00pm-7:00pm and is open to the public.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Sierra has been invited to host a giving tree at the market. The tree will be adorned with ornaments that have the Christmas wishes of little brothers and sisters in the organization. Market goers can take an ornament and fulfill a child’s Christmas wish list. There will be instructions on how and when to drop off your gifts for the children in the program.

Additionally, Sierra Community House will be hosting a food drive at the market. Sierra Community House feeds families and individuals who face food insecurity by providing weekly food distributions throughout North Lake Tahoe and Truckee, helping to get food into the hands and mouths of our community while reducing the amount of food ending up in landfills. See a full list of their needs here.

Local small businesses have been invited to sell locally made products at the market and in return, are donating a percentage of their proceeds back to the school. The Winter Market will provide a one stop shop for locally made gifts for everyone on your Holiday Shopping List while supporting a good cause. Market shoppers can also enjoy a festive drink from Incline Spirits and a healthy dinner from Mountain Lotus Food Truck

Lake Tahoe School student council will be raising money for their middle school dance by offering donation-based babysitting. Parents can drop their children off to watch a holiday movie and eat popcorn while they shop and enjoy a festive drink with friends. Student council will also be offering gift wrapping services, so your gifts will be wrapped and ready to go when you leave.

Lake Tahoe School will also be asking for donations to their own giving tree as well. Attendees can make a gift to their Arts, Athletics or Academic programing by hanging an ornament on the tree. All donations to Lake Tahoe School are tax deductible.

The Lake Tahoe School Giving Tuesday Winter Market is the perfect place to celebrate a day of generosity. Come support our community with us!
