43rd Annual Incline Boosters Club Crab Feed in Support of Incline High School

February 4, 2025 | Member Submitted

First Look at the New Bowl Incline Space at Incline Center for Events: The Incline Boosters Club is thrilled to announce the 43rd Annual Crab Feed, a cherished tradition supporting Incline High School and its students. This year’s event, presented by the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, with the Premier Reception sponsored by Plenium Builders, promises to be a spectacular evening of community and generosity.

Mark your calendars: The Crab Feed will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the highly anticipated, newly designed Bowl Incline Space at the Incline Center for Events. Tickets, tables, sponsorship opportunities, and donation options are now available. Act quickly—within the first 24 hours of sales, we are already halfway to selling out!

Why the Crab Feed Matters: The Crab Feed is the most significant fundraiser for the Incline Boosters Club. Our mission is to bridge the gap between the limited general operating support provided by the school district and the resources needed to create a thriving high school experience.

Did you know that the entire district general operating budget for IHS is just over $25,000—for the whole school year? That’s only $0.47 per student per day. Meanwhile, Boosters’ expenses budget equates to approximately $4.68 per student per day to support all areas of IHS. Without fundraising, those dollars shrink—and the district won’t be making up the difference. As a rural school with unique needs, Incline High School relies on the funds raised by this event to support its students directly. Every donation, ticket purchase, and sponsorship makes a tangible difference.

We are honored to receive a generous matching gift from the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, which will match every dollar raised—up to $125,000—for our Fund-A-Need initiatives. Click here to learn more about these initiatives.

A First Look at the New Venue: This year’s event will unveil the newly reimagined Bowl Incline Space at the Incline Center for Events. This innovative venue, with its extraordinary design and creative touches, will transform for the evening, featuring beautiful flooring laid across the lanes to create a one-of-a-kind experience.

Additional Details and How to Get Involved: Attendees will enjoy an upscale nautical ambiance—imagine the feel of a luxurious yacht with the sun shining, a light breeze, and great company. It’s a setting you won’t want to miss! For event details, to purchase tickets or tables, or to explore sponsorship and donation opportunities, click here. Lake Tahoe Business Walks Report

February 4, 2025 | Member Submitted

The Fall 2024 Lake Tahoe Business Walks Report highlights the economic landscape of the Incline Village and the broader Tahoe region, capturing insights from local businesses on key challenges and opportunities. Led by the Tahoe Prosperity Center (TPC) in collaboration with various chambers, business associations, and local governments, this initiative gathered real-time feedback from over 700 businesses through in-person and online surveys.

Major findings indicate that housing affordability, workforce shortages, and infrastructure improvements—particularly in broadband and transportation—remain top concerns. Many businesses report stability or growth, concerns persist regarding rising operational costs, seasonal workforce fluctuations, and the need for streamlined government regulations.

Incline Village, a key focus area, reflects many of these regional trends. Local businesses cite employee housing shortages, limited skilled labor, and regulatory hurdles as significant barriers to growth. Despite these challenges, optimism remains, with strong community engagement and ongoing collaboration between business groups and policymakers.

The Business Walks data will help guide future initiatives such as workforce training programs, improved transit solutions, and regional coordination to balance economic growth with sustainability. By uniting efforts through the Tahoe Prosperity Playbook, the region aims to foster a more resilient, inclusive economy, ensuring long-term prosperity for both businesses and residents in Incline Village and across Lake Tahoe.

In The News – Construction on Cal Neva will begin in earnest this summer

Originally Published in the Tahoe Daily Tribune, 2/3/2025, Written by Eli Ramos

The Revitalize Cal Neva project hopes to begin major construction on the site this summer if they receive approvals from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, along with Placer and Washoe County. If so, it’ll be keeping with their plans to open in 2026 for the 100th anniversary of the historic site.

Cal Neva Resort and Casino was constructed in 1926, but gained most of its fame after Frank Sinatra purchased and redeveloped the property. The property attracted celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, and Tony Curtis, along with many skiers who knew it from the 1960 Winter Olympics.

Though it holds many special memories for people in the area who recall weddings, New Year’s parties, and performances in the area, the property was in dire need of renovation and was closed in 2013.

Spring Softball Sign-Ups Now Open

February 3, 2025 | Member Submitted

After an incredibly successful inaugural season last Spring, North Tahoe Little League (NTLL) is excited to continue to grow the Fastpitch Softball league this year.  In 2024, NTLL proudly expanded programming to include Spring Softball for 1st through 8th-grade girls, marking a monumental shift in participation opportunities for young female athletes.  With the introduction of softball last year, we saw a remarkable 192% increase in girls’ participation, with >70 girls joining the league.

As we head into the 2025 season, we’re committed to continuing this growth for 1st-8th grade girls.  We’re working on adding more teams, enhancing coaching resources, and ensuring that all players, from beginners to experienced athletes, have the tools they need to succeed.

We also want to invite you, as parents and community members, to join us in making this next season even better.  Whether through volunteering as coaches or team parents, or by cheering from the sidelines, your involvement makes all the difference in creating a supportive and encouraging environment for these young athletes.

How You Can Get Involved:

  • Sign-up: Don’t miss out on the chance to register your child for the Spring 2025 season! Registration closes April 1st.

https://www.northtahoelittleleague.com

  • Volunteer: We’re always looking for passionate parents to join our coaching and volunteer teams.  No prior experience necessary—just a desire to help our kids thrive.  You can sign-up to volunteer using the link or QR code above.
  • Spread the Word: Help us reach more families by sharing the success of NTLL softball and encouraging others to get involved!  Attached are flyers.

Together, we can continue to build on this momentum and make North Tahoe Little League Softball a cornerstone of our community’s youth sports landscape. Here’s to another season of growth, excitement, and, of course, softball!

Thanks!

In The News – Lane 17 Lounge offers new vibe-shift dining option inside Bowl Incline

February 1, 2025 | Member Submitted

Originally Published in the Tahoe Daily Tribune, 01/31/2025, Written by Robert Galloway

When most people think about food offerings inside of bowling alleys, chances are they are not thinking about things like poke bowls and pork belly ramen from a James Beard award-winning chef. And while Bowl Incline has this offering in Sam Choy’s Ohana Diner, their new offering, Lane 17 Lounge, doubles down on the elevated food and beverage options to offer up yet another unique dining experience.

Born from an idea to extend their summertime patio in the winter months, the slightly remodeled second floor space now includes completely different menu and drink offerings to go along with a secluded dining experience that drowns out the sounds and goings-on from the rest of the bowling alley action.

“In the winter, it’s kind of our solution for the people that really love to come in the summer and enjoy the patio and the food, but not have the loud noise,” said Director of Fun (a.k.a. General Manager) Alison Hollman. “We didn’t want to just be serving the same food up here. We serve the same food outside in the summer, but we kind of feel like this space deserves its own.”
