Embrace the Spirit of GivingTuesday: Give Locally

November 7, 2023 | Julie Malkin-Manning

GivingTuesday is more than just a date on the calendar; it’s a global movement that encourages radical generosity. Created in 2012 with a simple idea in mind, it has since evolved into a year-round initiative inspiring millions worldwide to give, collaborate, and celebrate the power of generosity.

We invite you to join this impactful movement, not just on Tuesdays, but every day of the year. Whether you offer your time, make a donation, or use your voice to support your local community, your acts of kindness matter. Every gesture, no matter how big or small, contributes to the better world we all want to live in.

For many nonprofits, the holiday season is a time for receiving donations, and Giving Tuesday in November stands out as a pivotal day for raising funds.

As we enter the season of joy and sharing, IVCBA encourages you to think locally and embrace the spirit of giving. Caring for our neighbors and practicing generosity are core values of the community we are building together.

One organization that exemplifies this philosophy is the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, often described as the “umbrella” organization for nonprofits. Claudia Andersen, the CEO, expresses their mission eloquently: “For over 25 years, Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation has been dedicated to nurturing community philanthropy by connecting donors with causes that truly matter. We urge our community to be generous in supporting our hardworking non-profit organizations, not just during the giving season, but throughout the entire year. Together, we can enhance and preserve the quality of life in this beautiful place we call home.”

To discover and support the nonprofits in the Tahoe Basin, visit TahoeGives.org. Embrace the spirit of GivingTuesday, give locally, and make a positive impact on your community during this season of giving and beyond.
